Memorials -- Gifts with a Twofold Purpose

Each month the Hill Country Youth Ranch receives numerous memorial gifts honoring loved ones who have passed away and other gifts remembering special occasions; such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Our sense of mission is deepened by the awareness that such gifts impart a twofold trust. We gratefully acknowledge all such gifts, both to the donor and to the family of the loved one being honored. A permanent record is maintained of all memorials.  Because they are so important to the daily operations of the Ranch, and in keeping with their two-fold purpose, the honored ones are named in our bi-monthly newsletter, the Corral.

To make a memorial contribution, send the name of the loved one(s) being honored, along with your gift and the name of the family member(s) who will receive an acknowledgement card, to: Hill Country Youth Ranch Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 67, Ingram, Texas, 78025.  To make a memorial gift by credit card, you may go to the following secure site, JustGive.org, enter the amount of the gift and appropriate memorial information.  Within a week of receiving your gift, we will send you a note acknowledging the gift and notifying you that the appropriate card(s) has been sent to the family of the love one.      Back to Top

Make a Direct Monetary Contribution

Monetary gifts can be made to the Annual Children's Fund or designated for particular program areas, e.g. chapel, arts, recreation, horsemanship, vocational work program, college scholarships, etc., by writing the program designation on a check or other gift instrument. The amount required for us to sustain the care and treatment of 120 emotionally troubled children, and the professional staff required to work with them, continues to grow.  Gifts of every size are appreciated, and we will work hard to make every penny count in the lives of our children.   Cash gifts of $500 or more will be acknowledged by adding the donor to the Ranch's distinguished "500 Club".  All gifts will be acknowledged within one week of their receipt.

Capital improvements are funded by donations from individuals and foundations.  When a substantial part of the cost is donated, a new building or project can be named for the donor, or for a loved one of the donor's choice, as an enduring memorial.  An email of enquiry about the development program can be sent directly to HCYR's Executive Director, Gary Priour, at info@youth-ranch.org, and you are welcome to call and speak directly with Mr. Priour at 830-367-2131.  Send your check to Hill Country Youth Ranch, P. O. Box 67, Ingram, TX 78025, or send gift electronically by credit card at JustGive.org, a secure web site dedicated to helping non-profit organizations receive gifts, while protecting donor information.  Back to Top

The Hill Country Youth Ranch Foundation

The HCYR Foundation is an endowment fund whose principal is permanent and untouchable, and whose annual income from interest and dividends is distributed to the Ranch to supplement support for children. The Foundation is managed by a Board of Trustees who oversee the investment of funds with a goal of securing growth and income within conservative guidelines. The Foundation is key to securing a future for the many children who need, and will continue to need, a chance to live in a safe and secure home environment.  This is truly the gift that keeps on giving, for generations.

There are several ways to contribute to the Foundation.  A gift of cash can be placed directly into the Fund's permanent principal.  A gift of appreciated assets such as real estate or stock relieves the donor of a capital gains expense and give him/her a tax deduction based on the value of the gift.  Wills and trusts are often used to benefit the endowment.  Send check or money order designating gift to "HCYR Foundation" or call HCYR's Executive Director Gary Priour at 830-367-2131 for more information.  Also see HCYR Foundation for more info.  Back to Top

Giving Material Items

With a big family like ours, occupying two separate campuses, material goods are always needed.  We make use of donated items to furnish our residences and supply the children with everything from toys to clothing.  Just about anything of value can be used at the Ranch, or if not, we will sell it at one of our Thrift Shops.   Either way, the children benefit.

The Ingram Thrift Store is operated by the HCYR Auxiliary of Kerr County.  The Big Springs Ranch Thrift Store, operated by the Real County Auxiliary, is located in downtown Leakey.  Items can be mailed to the Ranch or larger ones can be picked up by Ranch staff within a 25 mile radius of the Ingram campus.  Just call 830-367-2131 to make arrangements.   Back to Top
